    Heart Happy

I LOVE this Heart Happy Kit by Close To My Heart! The color palette makes my heart swoon. The way they balanced out the bold Raspberry and soft Ballerina pink with the deep Sapphire blue and fun shade of Mint is just perfect. I’ve had these two pictures of my grandparents for a while now patiently waiting to be inspired to scrapbook them. I’m glad I waited because I think this layout came together perfectly. This kit is available through February while supplies last so grab your kit here!

This layout is of my younger son. We had a flat tire on the horse trailer and he was so eager to come to my rescue. The title, “Do Small Things with Great Love” I cut from the cut-apart-sheet. I thought it explained the moment perfectly! Its often the little things we do for others that have the most impact. I really like how I was able to create a page suitable for a boy with this Valentine themed kit.

These two layouts display some snapshots of my husband and I. Sometimes you have a solitary photo that isn’t part of some grand vacation or event, but you love the picture. I enjoy scrapbooking a single photo page. It gives you more room to play with all the fun patterned papers and embellishments or plenty of room for journaling the story.

Last but not least I created these fun cards utilizing the leftovers. So seldom do people send out cards these days but when I drop a handmade note in the mail I believe it is warmly received. To make these cards I layered up the scraps and incorporated stickers and embellishments from the cut-apart-sheet. The “Thank You” and “Love You” expressions are from January’s stamp of the month, Card Captions.

    I Heart Us

Hello! I’ve been having a ton of fun with the “I Heart Us” paper pack. This kit is rich in versatile colors and fun floral and heart shaped embellishments. At first glance it appears slightly feminine but when you look further you can see so many layout options! Above I scrapbooked some pictures of my mom on our annual trip to Half Moon Bay. We filled our car up with plants and flowers to spruce up our yards and kick off the summer season. The colors and embellishments in this kit were perfect for telling this story!

Here I was able to create two single page layouts of my boys just being boys. I love the way the canary yellow paper screams summertime in this “Hello Sunshine” page. I cut the title on my cricut machine and added a few stamped embellishments from my stash to pull it all together.

I love the way all the patterns work together to create a visually appealing display. The bright blues and yellows work perfectly to compliment the picture of my son, while the same kit was used to create the double page layout below. You can see how surprisingly versatile everything is!

Last but not least I utilized the leftover scraps to whip up these fun birthday cards. I created the cupcake with the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge and topped everything off with the fun sparkly sequins included in the kit. I was able to create all these projects with one kit by adding a sheet of Lagoon and white card stock from my stash!

    The Days of December

The days of December have flown by. Each year seemingly goes faster than the year prior. This time I made it a goal to snap more pictures of the little things that make the season special and memorable. My son’s annual Christmas play rehearsal madness is always a chaotic but memorable week. There is always coffee at Starbucks served in their festive red cups, the annual making of the Christmas cards, planning and creating the special holiday dishes for the Christmas feast and the family gathered around to watch the happy Christmas Hallmark movies. We all grab our cameras for the big events but it is often the little traditions we will later recall with the fondest of memories!

I had a ton of fun designing my own layouts with the Tis’ The Season paper pack this month. I am excited to adorn the pages with all my holiday photos! I love the traditional colors and feel of this paper.

I am happy to say that I utilized the entire paper pack and coordinating stickers. I find that extremely satisfying as a paper crafter and I’m sure you can all relate. After designing the 3 double page layouts I had enough leftovers to create a series of festive Christmas cards.

I apologize for getting this up at the end of the season but this beautiful paper pack is available through the end of the month so grab yours here

    Fresh Air Layout

I wanted to share my own creative layout using the Fresh Air paper crafting kit. The colors and patterns were perfect for these pictures taken last summer when my boys and I went on a two night pack trip without their dad who couldn’t escape from work. I was so proud of how they really stepped up and helped in every way they could! These guys caught and saddled horses, set up the fence, managed the fire and so much more. We caught fish, roasted marshmallows and told scary yet silly stories around the campfire. I can’t wait for this year’s adventures!

Silver and Gold, Pictures of Old!

Sometimes it’s fun to break away from scrapbooking the traditional events that occur year after year, and dig up an old photo that inspires you! Perhaps one from your childhood or a family member from way back when. After all, that is part of your story as well! I scrapbooked this layout of my mom and her sister from 1959 using Close to my Heart’s Silver and Gold kit. I love the way the monochromatic paper compliments the old black and white photo, and yet the unexpected pops of gold add life and sparkle to the page! What pictures do you have stashed away just waiting for their story to be told?
